How to play Twenty Five online

  1. Choose a complete CPU match or an open-hand study.
  2. Check the trump suit and decide on any optional rob offer.
  3. Select a legal card and confirm its play.
  4. Reach twenty-five points in a match, or the displayed total trick target in a study.

Controls

Tap or click a hand card, then confirm with Play card. At an optional rob offer, choose a discard and Take turn-up, or press Keep hand. Keys 1–5 select cards; arrows move focus, Enter or Space selects, P confirms, K keeps the hand, H hints and U or Ctrl+Z undoes a study choice. Escape clears the selection. Trump & score shows the full current card order.

A tip before you start

Treat the Ace of hearts as a trump even when hearts are not trumps. Before saving a high trump, check both the original lead and the rest of your hand: an ordinary trump can force you to follow even when your five or Jack could otherwise be withheld.

Five cards each, first to twenty-five

Twenty Five uses a 52-card deck with three individual players. Five cards are dealt to each player in packets of two then three, starting to the dealer's left. The next card turns up for trumps; the undealt stock is not drawn. Play moves clockwise, and the winner of a trick leads the next. Each trick scores five points. The first player to reach twenty-five wins immediately, even before the deal ends. If nobody has won after five tricks, scores carry into the next deal and the dealer rotates.

The highest trumps do not follow ordinary rank order

The five of the trump suit is highest, then its Jack, then the Ace of hearts. When a non-heart suit is trump, that suit's Ace comes next, followed by its King and Queen. The remaining red trumps run from higher numbers to lower numbers; the remaining black trumps run from lower numbers to higher numbers. With spades as trumps, for example, the five of spades beats the Jack of spades, which beats the Ace of hearts. Open Trump & score for the complete order of the current suit.

Plain suits also differ by color

Outside trumps, red suits run King, Queen, Jack, ten down to two, then Ace. In black suits the order is King, Queen, Jack, Ace, two up to ten. The Ace of hearts is always removed from the plain-heart order because it always counts as a trump. A black two can therefore beat a black ten in their plain suit. Read the suit and its role before deciding how strong a card is.

Following an ordinary suit or playing a trump

When an ordinary suit is led, you may follow that suit or play any trump, even if you still have a card of the led suit. If you have none of that suit, you may discard any card. The strongest trump wins the trick; if no trump is played, the strongest card of the led suit wins. An off-suit discard cannot win just because its face rank is high.

When a high trump may be withheld

A trump lead normally requires a trump. The top three trumps have a limited privilege called reneging: one that is higher than the originally led trump may be withheld if no other trump in your hand forces you to follow. An ordinary trump always forces a trump play, and a top-three trump below the lead also has to follow. With spades trump, a hand holding the five of spades, Ace of hearts and a plain club may discard the club on a low spade lead. Add an ordinary spade instead of the Ace of hearts, and you must play a trump. A later player's higher card does not change which trump was led.

Optional robbing before your first play

The holder of the trump-suit Ace may exchange one hand card for the turn-up before playing their first card of the deal. If an Ace is turned up, the dealer has that option. Choose a discard and confirm Take turn-up, or decline with Keep hand. The right expires after your first play. This table lets an eligible dealer decide on their own first turn. Other groups use mandatory robbing or an earlier deadline; those are different profiles.

A complete match against two computer players

Fern and Clover keep their hands hidden in Full CPU match mode. Each computer and the ordinary Hint use only the acting hand and public information. After an unfinished five-trick deal, Continue deal keeps the scores and deals again. There is no extra bonus for taking all five tricks: five winning tricks already make twenty-five points. New match starts a separate session. This version has no bidding, partnerships, cash stakes or remote multiplayer rooms.

Twenty original studies with progressively deeper choices

Studies reveal all three remaining hands. Guarantee the displayed total number of your tricks in this deal, including those already won; the summary also shows how many more you need. Both computer rivals choose legal replies that make your target hardest to reach. The positions come from original shuffled deals and legal earlier play. Your remaining hand grows from two cards to four, while consequential choices and the length of the best guaranteed plan increase. Study planning ends with the current deal, not a hypothetical future deal.

Hints, Undo and progress

Each study offers two successful hints. Undo restores the previous human choice and all following rival replies, but does not return spent hints. Complete a study to unlock the next. Local storage saves unlocks, best scores and sound preference when available. Unfinished games restart on reload. Restart repeats the initial shuffle after confirmation; mode changes also ask before replacing the board. Normal matches have no Undo. Help and the full card order open in separate dialogs.

Frequently asked questions

Can I play the twenty five card game alone?

Yes. A complete match supplies two computer opponents. The twenty open-hand studies offer shorter planning exercises with a guaranteed trick target.

Is the Ace of hearts always a trump?

Yes. It is always the third-highest trump, below the trump five and Jack. It never follows as a plain heart in this profile.

May I trump when I could follow an ordinary suit?

Yes. On an ordinary suit lead you may follow that suit or play a trump. On a trump lead, the separate following and high-trump reneging rules apply.

Does taking all five tricks give an extra bonus?

No. This table awards five points per trick and ends as soon as a player reaches twenty-five. It does not add a separate five-trick bonus.

Does a study target count tricks I already won?

Yes. The target is your total number of tricks in the current deal. The summary shows your current count, the target and the additional tricks needed.

Is Twenty Five free with no ads?

Yes. Both the complete computer match and all twenty studies are free with no ads, account or download.
