Tents and Trees is a tents and trees game about placing a quiet campsite around fixed trees. Each tree needs one tent directly beside it, and every tent needs its own tree. Tents cannot touch, even diagonally, and the numbers around the board give the exact tent totals for each row and column.
How to play Tents and Trees online
- Read the tent totals along the top and left edges of the board.
- Place tents directly above, below, left or right of trees without letting tents touch.
- Match all row and column totals and pair every tree with one tent to finish.
Controls
Tap an open square to cycle empty, tent and grass mark. Grass marks are optional notes. Previous and Next select a square; Place / mark changes it. Undo reverses a change, Check highlights local placement conflicts, and Hint corrects one square.
A tip before you start
A row marked zero cannot contain a tent. Use those empty areas to narrow the choices beside each tree, then keep a clear ring around each tent you place.
One complete pairing
A tent may sit beside more than one tree when every tree and tent can still be paired one-to-one. The final check verifies that complete pairing, in addition to the edge counts and no-touch rule. You do not have to fill every unused square with a grass mark.
A campsite that grows
Twenty unique-solution boards grow from five-by-five to eight-by-eight and from three tents to twelve. Within each equal-tent pair, the second board takes more search work for the fixed checker. Your hint allowance decreases at every level.

Unlocked challenges, best scores and sound settings are saved in this browser when local storage is available. An unfinished board resets after a reload. Restart asks for confirmation and keeps your unlocked challenges.
Can I play on a phone or computer?
Use touch or a mouse, or focus the labeled action buttons with a keyboard. The board fits its game window and switches to a portrait layout on phones. Help opens in its own dialog, and full screen is available where supported.
