How to play Conquian online

  1. Choose Study challenges or Full CPU deal. The center card is always face up. Tap the cards in your hand that you want to combine with it, then press Meld center. Tap a selected card again to remove it from your choice.
  2. Keep all exposed cards in valid sets or runs. Your table can be rearranged automatically when you meld the center. Then select one hand card and press Discard, unless your meld has already reached eleven and won.
  3. You may pass a freshly turned stock card to the opponent. Rejecting a card offered by the opponent removes that card and turns a new stock card. Watch for Force: it can require a player to accept a card that fits their exposed table.

Controls

Tap hand cards to select them. Number keys 1–9 and 0 reach ten slots; arrows move focus and Enter selects. M melds, P passes or turns stock, D discards, F forces, A allows, H hints, U undoes and Escape clears. Help and Meld details open separate panels.

A tip before you start

Ten exposed cards are not enough to win. Before accepting a card that empties your hand, check which eleventh card could still join your table. A forced extension may break the pair you were saving for a final set.

Which Conquian rules are used?

This table uses the two-player Anglo-American profile described by Clark Williams on Pagat: a forty-card pack, ten cards dealt to each player and eleven exposed cards to win. Each suit contains Ace, two through seven, Jack, Queen and King. There is no initial card exchange. This is separate from Mexican tables that deal eight or nine cards and from double-deck variants. The first stock card is turned by the nondealer.

The center card cannot go into your hand

A drawn or offered card must be used in an exposed meld immediately, or passed or rejected according to its source. You cannot save it in your hand for later. Sets contain three or four cards of one rank. Runs contain three to eight consecutive cards of one suit, with Ace low and seven followed directly by Jack. Six-seven-Jack is valid; Queen-King-Ace is not.

Rearrange your own exposed melds

When taking the center, you may combine selected hand cards with any of your own exposed cards. Every exposed card must still belong to a valid, separate meld afterward. For example, a three-four-five-six run can give up its six to form a set of sixes, provided three-four-five remains intact. Taking the middle four would break that run unless another complete legal arrangement exists. You cannot put exposed cards back in your hand or lay cards onto the opponent’s table.

Forcing a card changes the decision

If the center can be added to the current player’s exposed table without using any of their hand cards, the opponent may choose Force or Allow. Force requires acceptance. At this table, the recipient keeps the normal right to add hand cards during that same center meld, then discards unless eleven cards have won. Forcing is optional, and it can sometimes hand the opponent a win. The computer’s force decision uses public information.

Passing, discarding and the final stock card

After a successful meld, discard one card from your remaining hand. The next player may use it or reject it permanently and turn a stock card. A fresh stock card that is passed stays available to the opponent. The deal is drawn only when a player rejects an offered card and there is no stock card left to turn. This lets either player use the final exposed card before the draw is settled. Removed cards are never shuffled back into stock.

Twenty studies with growing planning demands

Each study starts from a position reached through legal play. Both hands and the remaining stock order are disclosed, and you must preserve a win against every legal reply. Across the sequence, the number of positions where your choice changes the outcome rises at every level. The necessary planning depth grows from one meaningful choice to six without decreasing. Stock codes use C for clubs, D for diamonds, S for spades and H for hearts; the next card is shown first. Individual puzzles can still feel easier or harder.

Private deals and open analysis

In a full CPU deal, opposing hand cards and the future stock stay hidden. Computer play and ordinary hints use only the computer’s own hand and public information. Study replies instead use the disclosed position to resist your winning plan. Studies allow two successful hints, and Undo does not restore spent hints. A calculation limit is reported as unknown; it is never counted as a solved study.

Progress and restarts

Unlocked studies, best results and sound preference save locally when storage is available. An unfinished deal does not survive a reload. Undo restores the previous human choice and its automatic replies. Restart repeats the initial position; New deal uses another seed, with confirmation before replacing the board. There is no timer, account, cash stake or remote multiplayer. The implementation, studies and illustrated presentation are original MangoFun work.

Frequently asked questions

How many cards do I need to win Conquian?

Eleven exposed cards in valid melds. Each player begins with ten. Emptying your hand while exposing only ten does not end the deal.

Can I keep the card I draw?

You can use it immediately in an exposed meld, but you cannot add it to your hand for a later turn.

Can my opponent force me to take a card?

Yes, if the center fits your existing exposed cards without requiring any hand card. You must accept, but may include additional hand cards during that same meld before discarding.

Is Conquian the same as Chinchon?

They share sets and runs, but the loops here differ. Conquian uses immediate exposed melding, forcing and an eleven-card goal. The linked Chinchon uses private draws, closing and deadwood scoring.

Does this Conquian card game require a download?

No. Play free online in the page. The game has no ads, account requirement or cash stakes.

Are the studies the same as the full deal?

They use the same rules, but reveal both hands and the remaining stock. Their goal is a guaranteed win against legal replies; normal CPU deals keep private cards hidden.
