How to play Tres y Dos online

  1. Choose a revealed planning study or a complete deal against the computer.
  2. Draw the top stock card or take the visible discard.
  3. Select a legal card to drop and confirm with Discard card.
  4. Keep three cards of one rank and two of another before the computer finishes.

Controls

Choose Draw stock or Take discard. After drawing, tap or click one of your six cards, then confirm with Discard card. Tap the selected card again or use Cancel choice to clear it without undoing the draw. Number keys 1–6 select hand slots; arrows move focus and Enter or Space selects. S draws stock, D takes the discard, P confirms a discard, H hints, G plays a hint and U undoes a study. Rules & plan explains the current mode and its goal.

A tip before you start

Count ranks rather than suits. Two pairs and an unrelated card leave two possible ranks to turn into a triple. A triple with two single cards offers a different choice: which singleton is more likely to become your pair? In a study, use the revealed stock and rival hand to check both your next turn and the reply you leave behind.

A triple and a different pair

Tres y Dos means three and two. A winning five-card hand has exactly three cards of one rank and two cards of a different rank: three Kings and two fours, for example. Suits have no effect. A straight, a flush or four of a kind does not meet this game's goal. The rank-group counts shown beside your hand help you distinguish a finished 3 + 2 hand from an unfinished 3 + 1 + 1 or 2 + 2 + 1.

Five cards each and one visible discard

Tres y Dos uses a standard 52-card pack without jokers and seats you against one computer opponent. Each player receives five cards. One card starts the face-up discard pile, and the remaining cards form the face-down stock. The nondealer begins. At each turn, draw one card and discard one, returning your hand from six cards to five. The first player with a valid triple and pair wins the deal.

The two draws have different restrictions

You may draw the unknown top stock card or take the visible top discard. A card drawn from the stock may be discarded immediately if it does not help. When you take the discard, you must keep that particular physical card for this turn. You may still discard a different card of the same rank that was already in your hand. Selecting an illegal drop leaves the hand intact and explains why the newly taken card must stay.

Recycling the entire discard pile

This table follows the basic whole-discard recycling profile described by Pagat. An empty stock does not end a normal deal. You may continue by taking the top discard. If you choose Recycle & draw instead, the entire discard pile, including its former top card, is shuffled into a fresh stock before the draw. Your next discard starts a new face-up pile. Some other versions leave the old top discard on the table; that is not the recycling rule used here.

A complete deal against the computer

Normal deals keep the opponent's hand and the stock order hidden. Computer choices and ordinary hints use the player's own cards, the public top discard and visible counts; they cannot inspect hidden ranks. This digital table automatically claims a valid five-card hand after the opening deal and after each completed discard. If both opening hands qualify, the player who would act first wins the claim. Play uses no cash, stakes or purchases. New deal begins another shuffled game after confirmation.

Fourteen original planning studies

Studies reveal both hands and the full remaining stock order on purpose. Finish a triple and a pair within the displayed number of your own turns, before another stock recycle. The computer chooses replies that test your plan, so a successful route must survive every legal reply. The shortest guaranteed plans grow from one to three turns, while the number of consequential choices grows throughout the sequence. Each starting position comes from an original complete deal and a legal earlier draw-and-discard sequence. This is a practice objective; recycling remains legal in ordinary full deals.

Look beyond the first useful card

Taking a matching discard can seem obvious, yet the card you drop may give your opponent the pair they need. Open studies make that risk visible. Compare the groups both players hold, inspect the known stock from left to right and trace the next reply before committing. Keeping two ways to improve can matter more than preserving one attractive triple. Suit colors are visual aids and do not add points or create extra combinations.

Hints, Undo and local progress

A study offers three successful hints based on its revealed information. Hints explain a draw and a discard that keep a guaranteed route within the target; a work limit is reported as unknown. Undo restores the beginning of your previous whole turn and the computer reply, including an unfinished draw, but does not refund hints. Normal deals have no Undo. Completing a study unlocks the next. Unlocked levels, best scores and sound preference save locally when storage is available. Unfinished deals start again after reload. Restarting or changing mode asks for confirmation; Help, Pause and hidden tabs suspend computer turns.

Frequently asked questions

What wins the Tres y Dos card game?

Exactly three cards of one rank and two of a different rank. Suits and runs do not matter, and four of a kind is not a winning hand.

Can I throw back the card I just drew?

Yes if it came from the stock. If you took the top discard, you must retain that physical card for the turn, although another card of the same rank may be discarded.

Does an empty stock end the game?

No. In normal deals you can take the discard or shuffle the entire discard pile into a new stock and draw. The open studies have a separate target that requires finishing before another recycle.

Why can I see the computer's cards in a study?

The fourteen studies are explicitly open-hand exercises and also reveal the stock order. Complete CPU deals keep that information hidden, and their hints and computer decisions use visible information only.

Can I play Tres y Dos with a friend here?

This version offers one human seat and one computer opponent. It does not include online rooms or human multiplayer.

Is Tres y Dos free with no ads?

Yes. The complete computer deals and fourteen planning studies are free to play with no ads, account or download.
