How to play Halve It Darts online

  1. Choose a CPU match or an accuracy challenge. Everyone starts with 40 points. The targets are 15, 16, any double, 17, 18, any triple, 19, 20 and bull.
  2. Tap or drag to aim, then Start sight. Press Lock X to fix the horizontal position, then Throw to fix the vertical position and release one dart.
  3. Throw all three darts each round. Correct target hits add points. If all three miss the current target, halve your existing total, rounding down. Complete all nine rounds.

Controls

Tap or drag on the board to choose an aim point, or use the four arrow buttons and arrow keys. S starts the moving sight, X locks horizontally and T throws. Escape cancels an unfinished shot, H gives an aim hint, and U or Ctrl+Z undoes. Score & rules shows every completed turn. Help, pause, sound, restart and fullscreen controls are available.

A tip before you start

A large single segment can protect your total on a numbered round. Once one dart has hit the target, the turn is safe from halving, so you can consider the smaller triple band for more points. In doubles, triples and bull rounds, a neighboring single does not protect you.

Half It darts game scoring

Half It and Halve It are spellings for this target-and-halving game. Our version starts on 40 and uses nine rounds. A single 15 scores 15 on the 15 round, a double scores 30 and a triple scores 45. A dart in another number scores zero for that round. Add all valid target points from the three darts; if their total is zero, replace your previous score with half of it, rounded down. For example, a blank turn on 75 leaves 37.

The nine targets and what each accepts

The sequence is 15, 16, any double, 17, 18, any triple, 19, 20, then bull. Numbered rounds accept any ring on that number. The doubles round accepts doubles from 1 to 20 and the inner bull worth 50. The triples round accepts triples from 1 to 20, but neither bull ring. The final bull round awards 25 for the outer bull and 50 for the inner bull. One valid hit prevents halving, even if the other two darts miss.

An actual aiming game with two timing stages

This page simulates throwing at an illustrated board. It does not enter scores from a physical dartboard or use a camera. First choose where to aim. Starting the sight begins its movement; the first lock fixes the horizontal coordinate and the second fixes the vertical coordinate. The moving sight shows the impact position, with no additional hidden player error. Cancel before Throw to keep all remaining darts. A missed touch or opening Help cannot release a dart.

A complete match against the computer

Each player gets three darts at every target. After your third dart, the computer takes its turn at the same target. Both players complete all nine rounds, and the higher final total wins; equal totals draw in this version. The computer aims using the public target and a seeded aiming error. The scoreboard and turn log retain its actual hits, target points and halving results.

Twenty challenges that require greater accuracy

Solo challenges also play all nine rounds. Required scores rise from 300 to 1,250, while the sight moves faster at every level. The board and its scoring bands keep the same size. Later challenges therefore ask for more precise timing and more high-value hits, rather than merely changing a random seed. Two optional aim hints move the aim point to a high-scoring target; you still need to time both locks. Full-match hints are unlimited.

A declared profile among several Halve-It variations

Target sequences, starting scores and rounding rules vary between groups. This game uses the stated nine-round sequence, starts on 40, rounds halves down and records tied final scores as draws. It does not include custom targets, the thirteen-round Bermuda Triangle-style sequence or an extra tiebreak round. The illustrated board is for gameplay, not a reference for physical equipment dimensions.

Undo, restart and saved progress

Undo restores your throw and any following CPU turn with the same random stream. It does not refund a challenge hint. Restart repeats the seed after confirmation; New match chooses another seed. Mode changes also require confirmation. Challenge unlocks, best scores and sound preferences save on this device when storage is available. An unfinished match restarts after reloading.

Frequently asked questions

Do I halve the score after every missed dart?

No. Halving happens once only when none of the three darts meets that round's target. Two misses and one valid single prevent it.

Does double bull count in the doubles round?

Yes. The inner bull counts as a double worth 50. The outer bull does not count in that round.

Can I stop after one correct hit?

You still throw all three darts. Once one has scored, later misses cannot halve that turn, while later correct hits add more points.

Does the sight hide extra random inaccuracy?

No. Your two locks determine the impact. The computer has its own seeded aiming error, which Undo restores with the rest of its turn.

Can this score a real dartboard or connect other players?

No. It is a simulated browser game with a computer opponent and solo challenges. It has no camera scoring, remote multiplayer or cash stakes.

Is a triple 20 always worth 60?

Its board value is 60, but it contributes points only on the 20 round or the any-triple round. On other targets it scores zero for the turn.
