How to play Word Search online

Read the word list beside or beneath the letter grid.
Drag along a straight line, or tap the first and last letter. A correct word stays highlighted.
Find every listed word to unlock the next challenge.

Controls

Use a mouse or touch to select letters. Previous and Next move the gold focus; Select chooses an endpoint. Cancel clears a selection. Hint marks the first letter of a remaining word while hints are available.

A tip before you start

Look for uncommon letters first, then check nearby letters in each allowed direction. Later boards can hide words backward and diagonally.

Find a word by checking its two endpoints

Start with a listed word, then use its first letter and length to narrow the search. Follow one straight line through the grid.

For a three-letter word such as OAK, find an O and look two squares along an allowed direction for K.
Check that the square between them contains A. Select the O and K endpoints or drag through all three letters.
An L-shaped route does not count even if the letters spell a listed word. Cancel the selection and choose a straight route.
In challenges 6–10, also check backward horizontal and vertical words. Challenges 11–20 can include diagonal words.

OAK is a vocabulary example, not a promise that it appears on every board. Hint identifies the first letter of a remaining word while hints are available.
